Winter, CA Style

Winter
in
California

(especially in the Central Coast)

is
pretty
amazing!

sunshine
...
so
much
sunshine

warm
days
and
cool
evenings

December 29th, 2013
..
much
of
the nation
 cold   rainy   snowy

but
Morro Bay
(about 12 miles from SLO)
was
a
crystal clear 73 degrees

Our
BFF's
Tami and Mike

called
and
said
"Hey!  Let's go boating in Morro Bay"
yeah!

We packed
up
a
couple
bottles
of
bubbles
(to celebrate Tami's birthday)
and
some
munchies
and
rented
this
adorable
8
passenger
boat
from
and spent
the next
few
 hours
cruising
around
Morro Bay

both
John and Mike
got
to
captain
for
awhile
                                  aye aye, Matey

we
sipped
and
 nibbled
and
laughed
at
the
barking
sea lions
basking in the sun

and
the
otters
frolicking
in and out of the water

and were
awed
by
the
sparkling beauty
of
the
December
afternoon

this great!

C'est la Vie
travels
temptations
tastings
I
was
a
tad bit worried
that
you might
not
feel
at
HOME
with this new face
so
I am going to start
the
first
BLOG
of
C'est la Vie
with
drum roll………..

Fish Tacos!!!!
yup!

my
fish taco eating

Morro rock
The Tognazzini's
are
a fishing family..
they
literally
catch
the
fish
that
they serve at
this dockside restaurant..
the halibut
was
fresh
"off the boat"
really!!!

the
family dog
greets
you
(he LOVES fish tacos, too)
IMG_1891

your
dog is welcome
to join
you for
lunch in the patio,
as well

We
ordered
halibut tacos
IMG_1887

the
fish
was
especially
DELICIOUS
..
grilled fresh
with
onions,
creamy something
and
a bit of red cabbage
in corn torts
IMG_1895

hard to tell
how
perfectly
yummy
these tacos
are

this is the view from our

The
barbecued oysters
were being
ordered
by the dozens…
and were highly recommended….
so
IMG_1898
I tried one.
an oyster
maybe
6 inches big
..
super yummy,
if you like
barbecued oysters!

The day
was
sunny
and cool…
busy
with
fishing village
sounds
and smells

p.s.
the
blue fin tuna
was just
in,
as well
(like sushi fresh!!)

I bought
a lb. -
we
"black and blued"
it for
dinner
later that evening
Oh, my…
Note:
bring your cooler and pick up
whatever is
fresh
and
bring
it home for
dinner
